Not receiving an email

Postby duncan » Mon Sep 21, 2009 7:48 pm

Hello,

I have set up CKForms and must say it is the easiest component to use (and I've tried alot of them!) My problem is that I am not receiving any emails. I believe I have set it up correctly, I have checked the "EMail Result" Radio button and supplied an email address in the "to field" but nothing is hitting my inbox.
I'm thinking this might have something to do with incorrect permissions for CKForms, can you tell me what they should be? They are currently all set to 666 by default.

Thanks!
Duncan

Installed CK Forms yesterday and have been juggling around. With me it works under certain conditions:
1. Have an e-mail address in the FROM field as well.
2. Have my e-mail programme (Outlook) running.

Hope this helps. Success.

Well it turns out it was as much a server issue as anything. I worked with the clients host and managed to get it working. We had to set up the email settings in the global configuration setting, and once we had that set up correctly it worked. Thanks for the comments however!

I've just done a LOT of trial and error and this is what I found:

Mail FROM: address must the the same as the Mail TO: address

OR... Mail FROM: address must be the email address set up in the Joomla Global configuration.

If Global Configuration is set to PHP mail, then that address must belong to the domain of the Joomla site.

(I originally had a yahoo.com email address in the global config)

Now I can have Mail From: and the
Mail To: or anywhere. (as long as global config address is .)

Hope this helps!
