Form Data Getting Erased When Captcha Not Entered Correctly

When someone enters the captcha incorrectly it erases all the data in the form fields. I am using some fairly long forms and this is causing a problem because people spend a decent amount of time filling it out then have to redo it if they enter the captcha wrong. Is there a way to correct this? I have looked in settings and can't find it but I have the ability to go in and edit code directly as well. Thank you for any help
