I have a DB connection error

I used to use 1.3.3 which is wroking perfect but I have a below error when I install a 1.3.4 version..

Warning: mysql_num_rows(): supplied argument is not a valid MySQL result resource in /hermes/bosweb/web194/b1947/ipg.powervoiceuscom/libraries/joomla/database/database/mysql.php on line 344

because of this, I can't see the displayed data back and front end..Do you have any idea for this?
